February 28th Lake Charles
The sounds around me have interested me a lot. Trains roaring by whistling and rumblings beneath the steals wheels upon rails, the chorus of midnight coyotes yips and howls, river bed rapids splashing, bayou birds and their bull frog neighborhoods. Tonight’s its an aquarium, the off and on again motor of a fridge and an in house mistering bowl. You ever wonder how those homeless people sleep under… the freeway over passes of a big city…. Well, there just comes a time when you get so tired you learn to block out on the surrounding noises learning to discipline yourself to shut down the brains neurons one at a time till your beneath the surface way down there where everything’s quiet and you learn to sleep. Watching today’s tragedies on the news and the campaigns of the GOP. All I hear are the intense adverbs and adjectives with boring clever news and politician lines each trying to grab the impulses of the listener each trying to wake those sleeping neurons I told you about. Well, it’s the best of me to turn them off and fall back to sleep again amongst the noise they try to make and derive wisdom from the quietness of my sleep.
